Eagle was established by the Chrysler Company in 1987. The brands cars were marketed in a period of eleven years (1987-1998). Before it was purchased by Chrysler it initially belonged to American Motors under the name AMC Eagle. Its original automobile designs were engineered by Renault. Later designs were patented by Mitsubishi engineers.
In its eleven year tenure, the company only managed to release a small number of models. This was headlined by the Premier, followed by the Summit, the Talon, the Medallion and the Vision. The Eagle Premier and the Medallion were engineered by Renault. While the Summit and the Talon was crafted by Mitsubishi. However, Eagle did not fair well in terms of car sales. Experts attribute this to poor engineering. In addition to that, most of the mobile designs had striking resemblances to their other counterparts (Dodge, Plymouth and Mitsubishi). These counterparts already had established names in the industry so they outperformed the Eagle vehicle line-up. The Eagle failed to acquire a niche in the auto industry. Poor sales resulted to Chrysler abolishing the venture in 1998.
There are some that believe that the quality of Eagle vehicles were exceptional. However, the vehicle designs failed to appeal to car buyers. The Eagle Vehicle line suffered from having to pattern their designs from other brands. It destroyed the idea of ingenuity and innovation. Name recognition led customers to buy the more established names. Today, Eagle continues to manufacture high-performance parts for a limited market. The company has remained loyal to the few car owners who trusted their brand. This is a strong showing of character for the Eagle Company.
Its performance and replacement parts have gathered exceptional praise from the automobile community. The Eagle parts catalogue features a wide variety of parts, specs, and accessories. The catalogue offers everything, from condensers to lights, and floor mats to turn signals. It must be noted that some parts are customizable to suit different brands. However, it is important to check the specs of a vehicle before purchasing an eagle patented part. There are also parts that are vehicle specific – headlights, bumpers, etc.
