Not all central Illinois farmers are in favor of a bill introduced in the state legislature for the beautification of the new hard roads by planting shade and fruit trees and flowers and shrubbery along the right of way.
Some of the agriculturists declare the shade from such trees would lessen the production of adjacent lands, besides take up much moisture needed by crops.
Other objections advanced in the rural districts are in substance that the trees, in some instances, obstruct views of the road, giving cause for accidents.
