LAKEVILLE, Minnesota (December 17, 2009) - - Officials from Lakeville, Minnesota based Win-Tron Racing announced today that road racing ace Justin Marks will return to the ARCA Racing Series (ARS) presented by RE/MAX and Menards behind the wheel of the No. 32 Construct Corps entry in 2010.
Marks, a native of Rocklin, California tested the waters with the veteran ARS team last September at New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) where Marks qualified an impressive third.
A new season with a new attitude is on the horizon with Marks ready to soar.
“I’m very excited about this opportunity with Win-Tron Racing for 2010,” said Marks, who has acquired 41 ARCA starts over five years. “I was very impressed with the organization when I drove for them at New Jersey . With this new opportunity, I think we will put together a lot of great consistent finishes which will put our team in a very familiar place, up front.”
He continued, “I’m just as excited though about my return to ARCA. It’s a more pure form of racing filled with great people and competition. By far the ARCA Racing Series has the most enjoyable cars I’ve raced in; I’m anxious to get the season underway. I’d also like to thank my longtime supporter Construct Corps for their commitment and support of my racing endeavors.”
The 2010 season kicks off with the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 at Daytona on February 6, 2010 . Marks, a former NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) driver is no stranger to leading the way around the 2.5-mile Daytona ( Fla. ) International Speedway as back in 2008, Marks captured his second-career ARCA pole in an entry fielded by Germain Racing. On the flip side, Win-Tron Racing will return to the season-opener as the defending champion when James Buescher mastered a highly competitive field to the team’s first restrictor plate triumph last February.
With the lethal combination of both team and driver; it’s hard not to point to the No. 32 as a pre-race favorite.
“I know we’ll be taking a very good Toyota Camry for the race,” sounded Marks. “Unfortunately, I won’t be at the test as I’ll be traveling out of the country to Argentina but there is no doubt in my mind that with the test Win-Tron Racing will be more than ready for February.”
Win-Tron Racing co-owner and general manager Nate Thiesse showed equal excitement about having a stout driver like Justin Marks as the team’s pilot next year.
“Justin (Marks) is a wealth of talent,” Thiesse said. “He knows how to race these ARCA cars on every type of track. We’ve been fortunate to work with a talented crop of drivers through the course of the past couple seasons but we feel working with Justin (Marks) on a weekly-basis inches our team up the ladder even more heading into a new season. We’re all looking forward to it.”
“Performance is key,” Marks stated. “It’s our intent to run the full-season together and with hopefully a couple wins and some strong performances -- we’ll be able to keep our partnership going towards a championship effort.”
Mike Chaffee will continue to call the shots as Crew Chief for Win-Tron Racing in 2010.
From 2005 to 2009, Justin Marks has competed in 41 ARCA Racing Series events presented by RE/MAX and Menards events collecting five top-five finishes and mounting 13 top-10 efforts. He has also collected two pole positions including a New Track Record (NTR) at Kansas Speedway in 2007. Marks career best finish is second which has occurred twice at The Milwaukee Mile (2007) and Chicagoland Speedway (2007). He has led the field for 136 laps in five races. He finished fifth in the ARCA Racing Series championship point standings in his lone season of full-time ARCA competition in 2007.
