Pedestrians and others last week witnessed a white Mitchell car adorned with various inscriptions stating that the car was making a 10,000-mile test run. It left Chicago, where the hood and crank case were sealed on June 6. It is now on its way to Atlanta and Oklahoma City.
Dodge Brothers announce that their new business coupé is upholstered in genuine leather, has a wide, straight seat, is equipped with cord tires, heater, dome light, windshield cleaner and adjustments for raising and lowering windows.
Several thousand persons inspected the models of the new Star car at the first showing last week in the rooms of the Poertner Motor Car Company, 1,759 Broadway. The Star is the latest Durant creation and will sell for the same price as the Ford in all models.
James J. Hunt, President of the Hunt Motor Car Company of New York, distributer for the Rickenbacker car, made a trip to the factory at Lansing, Mich., last week for the purpose of getting an extra supply of cars.
George Morrow, the New York Earl car distributer, has received word from President Clarence Earl that the production program has been doubled, and that the factory is running overtime with three shifts in some departments.
C. M. Gray of Del Mar, Cal., is the owner of a Kissel car which he has driven across the continent four times. He bought the car in 1912, and it has been driven 300,000 miles.
Two subjects of interest to automobile owners will be acted upon at the Summer convention of the Society of Automotive Engineers at White Sulphur Springs, W. Va., beginning June 20. There are the standardization of passenger car front bumper brackets and crankcase drain plugs.
