Special to The New York Times.
CINCINNATI, Ohio, Aug. 26.—Suit for receivership against the Sutton Motor Car Company was filed today by Charles B. Terry, counsel for the Continental Finance Company of Dayton, Ohio, following the discovery of alleged forged mortgages on which money was borrowed from the finance company.
At the same time search was begun for G. E. Sutton, President of the motor company. Mr. Sutton left Cincinnati Monday, it was learned. He was supposed to be at Cedar Point, Ohio, but representatives of the finance company were unable to locate him there.
Following the action of Mr. Terry, representatives of several other finance corporations, the Fourth and Central Trust Company and the Auburn Motor Company visited Mr. Sutton's offices. Numerous alleged irregularities, including checkes which were returned marked “no funds,” were uncovered, it is charged. The presence of alleged irregularities in the affairs of the Sutton Company became known, it is said, when the Continental Finance Company discovered that a mortgage, said to have been signed by Dr. Alvin F. Renneker, was a forgery.
