DE PALMA WINS AUTO RACE

Takes $4,000 in Prize Money at Denver—Duray is Second.


Denver, Col., July 19 (AP).—Ralph De Palma won the 100-mile automobile race here yesterday, which ended a two-day program sponsored by the Denver Automobile Racing Association, taking $4,000 in prize money. Leon Duray was second and Fred Comer was third.

De Palma negotiated the 100 miles over the one-mile dirt track in 1 hour 21 minutes and 26 3-5 seconds. George W. Lewis of Oilton, Okla., won the Rocky Mountain race.

Duray won $2,000 in prize money and $1,000 went to Comer. Twenty thousand saw the race.

Earl Devore finished in fourth place, and “Doc” Shattuck, California driver, was fifth. Seven started.
