Detroit, Aug. 26.—“The success of the convention having for its object the preparation of a statewide standard traffic ordinance for Michigan is now assured,” says L. J. van Schoick, in charge of the safety activities of the Detroit Automobile Club. “More than 125 have already signified their intention of being present and I believe that at least 200 will be present when the sessions open.”
Meetings will be held September 8 in the General Motors Building. Luncheon will be served at 1, and the afternoon session will last from 2 to 5. President Thomas P. Henry of the A. A. A., will open the meeting, and a brief address of welcome will be made by Mayor John W. Smith.
Seventy-four municipalities will be represented by those who have already sent in their acceptances. Of these, 35 will send mayors or presidents; 33 will send commissioners or chiefs of police and six will send city managers. Thirteen counties will be represented by sheriffs.
