********************FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE********************

Darlington, SC (5-10-2010) - Chad McCumbee, who made his debut at Darlington Raceway in Friday night's Royal Purple 200 presented by O'Reilly Auto Parts, survived the historic, "Track Too Tough to Tame". After contact with the wall during practice and a 42nd-place qualifying effort due to electrical problems, McCumbee finished 28th in his second NASCAR Nationwide Series start with RAB Racing.

However, the No. 09 entry dropped one position to 24th in the 2010 NASCAR Nationwide Series owner point standings, a mere 50 points outside the top-20.

From the drop of the green flag, McCumbee reported in to the RAB Racing team that there was a miss in the engine. It wasn't until lap 14 that the NNS rookie driver realized it was being caused by a short in the battery. Due to the issue, McCumbee was running 38th, one lap down, when the second caution flag was displayed on lap 28 for an accident in turn-3.

Crew chief, Ben Gable, brought the No. 09 TheGPSstore.com/Garmin Ford Fusion down pit road for a chassis adjustment, four tires and fuel. When the field went back to green at lap 31, McCumbee was scored 36th.

At lap 35, the No. 09 machine suffered from right side damage due to a multi-car incident in turn-4. Gable was forced to bring the Ford Fusion down pit road for repairs and also called for four tires and fuel. McCumbee was scored 33rd, one lap down when the field went back to green at lap 39.

Over the remaining 108 laps, McCumbee would battle his way through the field while suffering from an extremely loose race car. Gable brought the No. 09 machine down pit road under caution, three times for major chassis adjustments but nothing seemed to improve the handling.

McCumbee would go on to finish 28th behind race winner Denny Hamlin in his home track debut at Darlington Raceway.

“I was really excited to make my debut at Darlington Raceway, a track that is closest to where I grew up,” said McCumbee. “Unfortunately, it didn't go as well as I had planned. We struggled with electrical issues all day and then the damage on the right side completely destroyed the handling of the car. I just want to thank TheGPSstore.com and Garmin for supporting me this weekend; I couldn't have been here without them.”

Up next for RAB Racing is the Heluva Good! 200 at Dover International Speedway on Saturday, May 15th. The 11th event on the 2010 NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule will be broadcast live on ABC at 2:00 p.m. ET.
