Venturini Continues To Develop Top Talent

One of the most amazing stories in ARCA this year is the number of young drivers that are showing tremendous talent. And once again Venturini Motorsports is helping to lead that charge.

Last week, Josh Richards was behind the wheel of the #55, Mike’s Hard Lemonade car, normally driven by Steve Arpin. Arpin will be in Iowa this week driving the #88 JR Motorsports Nationwide entry. It appears that Arpin is continuing in the tradition of a number of drivers that come through the Venturini system…rising up to the next level.

Richards, the 2009 World of Outlaws Late Model Champion qualified 11th and finished 13th in the Tim Richmond Memorial 200 at Mansfield Motorsports Park. “This team really helped me be ready to run at this level”, Richards commented. “Their equipment, the way the team just comes together around the new guy, it is just the right way to do things. It really helps a guy like me come over from racing on dirt to know that their cars are going to really perform.”

From the Venturini viewpoint, “Josh was great this weekend. His work ethic and everything about him was very professional. We would love to have him back. It would be a great opportunity to continue our development efforts with a kid with so much talent. Josh would fit very well into our program.”

This week, another talented driver with a little more asphalt experience gets into the #55. Donny Lia has been running in the truck series in selected races this year. Everyone is excited to see Lia come over to the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards for this Saturday’s event in Pocono. Donny says “the Venturinis have helped produce some really successful drivers in recent years. Joey Logano, Justin Allgaier, and Brian Scott all raced here. Now Mikey Kile has won here, and Steve Aprin has 2 wins with these guys. This is just another great opportunity for me to get some more experience in really good equipment”.

Aprin returns to the #55 for the race at Berlin.

The Weis Markets 125 can be seen on Speed, Saturday, July 21st at 3:00pm est.
