“Sheltra Confident Third Win Of ’10 Could Come Under The Lights Saturday Night”

SALEM, Indiana (September 15, 2010) - - With just three races remaining on the 2010 ARCA Racing Series (ARS) presented by RE/MAX and Menards schedule, Indiantown, Florida native Patrick Sheltra is looking for win number three of the year in Saturday night’s Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA Fall Classic 200 at Salem (Ind.) Speedway.

The current ARCA Racing Series championship point’s leader is no stranger to victory lane at the treacherous half-mile oval after the 24-year old recovered from injuries sustained in the 2009 ARCA season opener at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway to capture his first career victory in dramatic fashion just six weeks later. The win was emotional to say the least.

The fan-favorite Sheltra wouldn’t mind grasping the checkered flag for the second time in his career at the historic southern Indiana short track. The Cornelius, North Carolina resident nearly pulled off the repeat win earlier this year but late race contact with eventual winner Steve Arpin dropped Sheltra to fourth leaving a bittersweet taste in the NASCAR-bound driver’s mouth.

“I always enjoy Salem,” said Sheltra, who holds control of the top-spot by five points over Craig Goess Jr. “I’m really excited to get back to Salem this weekend. The racing there is always intense and is known to bring some close two and sometimes three wide racing. It’s a race that I feel like we have as good of a shot as anyone to put ourselves back in victory lane.”

He added, “we had a good car in the Spring. If not for the contact, we could have won the race. But that was then and this is now. The car is fixed and we’re armed and ready for battle again at one of ARCA’s most toughest tracks.”

Without question, Sheltra’s chances of victory this weekend look as good as anyone else. The Mooresville, North Carolina-based Sheltra Motorsports team will bring the same Dodge Charger that the avid hunter won with last year and also raced to one of his 10 top-five finishes this year at Salem.

“The Dodge Charger we are bringing has always performed well at Salem,” sounded Sheltra, who has 14 top-10 finishes in 2010, the most of any ARCA driver. “The car can take a beating and still keep on ticking. That’s good to have at a demanding track like Salem. If you aren’t nearly kissing the wall in turns three and four, you’re not experiencing the full wrath of Salem Speedway. I expect us to be as strong, if not stronger than we were in April and keep our championship dream alive!”

A flawless night will need to be on-tap for the Jon Wolfe led organization in order to keep the four year ARCA veteran in contention for his first stock car championship. With just three races remaining, the top-three drivers are separated by just 15 points. Behind Sheltra and Goess Jr., sits Tom Hessert III in third with nine-time ARCA champion Frank Kimmel in fourth, 140 in the arrears to the championship leader.

“My guys are the best in the business, hands down,” added Sheltra. “I want to win this championship not only for them but everyone else that’s been apart of my career in ARCA. We’re one big family. We’re making our lists, checking them twice and have no plans to change what we’ve been doing this last stretch of races. They will do their part and I promise I will do mine. I’m pumped and cannot wait for the Saturday night to get here.”

Multiple cost-effective marketing partnership packages are still available for Salem (Ind.) Speedway and the remainder of the 2010 ARCA Racing Series and NASCAR seasons for Patrick Sheltra. Speedway (April 2009), the Illinois State Fairgrounds (August 2010) and Chicagoland Speedway (August 2010). During his ARCA tenure, Sheltra has accumulated 20 top-fives and posted 36 top-10 finishes. A second place qualifying effort at Chicagoland Speedway (August 2010) is Sheltra’s best time trials effort to date. He has controlled the ARCA field 10 times for 276 laps.

The Kentuckiana Ford Dealers ARCA Fall Classic 200 (200 laps / 111 miles) is the 18th of 20 events on the 2010 ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards schedule.
