Authorities in northern India say at least 37 people were killed and as many injured when an overcrowded truck veered off a road and plunged into a deep gorge.
Local officials say the accident happened Wednesday in Himachal Pradesh state, north of the state capital, Shimla.
They say the truck was overcrowded and the driver apparently lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a turn. The dead included 21 women, nine men and seven children, many from the same family.
