South African police say the man accused of driving a minibus into an oncoming train, killing 10 school schoolchildren, will appear in court Tuesday and be charged with homicide.
A police spokesman says the 55-year-old driver was taken into custody Sunday after he was discharged from a hospital.
The man allegedly drove his minibus around a lowered gate to cross a train track near Cape Town last Wednesday. The resulting crash killed all but four of the children on board.
The man’s name has not been released.
