Polish television reports the condition of injured Formula One driver Robert Kubica has deteriorated.

News station TVN24 quoted Kubica's girlfriend on Monday as saying the Polish driver's condition has “somewhat worsened,” both physically and psychologically, and that he has been returned to an intensive-care unit at an Italian hospital near Genoa.

The 26-year-old Kubica was seriously injured in a crash February 6 at the Ronde di Andora rally in Liguria, Italy. He partially severed his right hand and suffered several fractures in the crash and has undergone several surgeries.

Kubica's girlfriend says Kubica's condition is not life-threatening, but doctors say recovery could take a year.
