The 1954 Lancia Aurelia B24 Spider was one of the advanced production cars during the 1950s. This car was produced by one of Italy's best car producers, Vittorio Jano. Compared to its contemporaries, it had a bigger engine and better equipment such as a modified suspension. This enabled the Aurelia B24 Spider to be faster and handle better than other car models. Built by Pirinfarina, it was aesthetically pleasing too. It had ample luggage space, a pleasant interior, and a masterpiece of an exterior design. All these attributes of the Aurelia B24 Spider helped it appeal to the richer and wealthier class. The car has had its share of the limelight too. It was used in the movie Il Sopraso or The Easy Life in 1964, though an earlier version of the Aurelia was also used but for a more popular film, The Godfather III.

The exterior of the Aurelia B24 Spider was unlike any other. It had tight, lean curves which were a deviation from the bulky designs of its peers. The front wheels are found beneath pontoon fenders complimented with flares. Its front bumpers are split by an elegant grille. The hood is also a beauty as it is long with a slight opening for external cooling. Being a 2-door, 2-seated convertible, this is a vehicle that you can easily fall in love with.

Aside from its masterful design, the Aurelia B24 Spider also offered its user a lot of luxurious options. The steering and the pedals can be adjusted according to the driver's preferences. There are two ashtrays which are self-emptying. There is also an interior rear revert button so that drivers are not blinded by vehicles in its tail. Plus it was available in left-hand drive.

The Lancia Aurelia, as a testament to its speed and power, was also used in competition racing. Driven by Giovanni Bracco, an earlier model of the Aurelia finished 2nd in the 1951 Mille Miglia and was 1st in class and 12th overall in the LeMans tournament of the same year. It also placed in the 1952 Targa Florio and had another victory at the 1953 Lieges-Rome-Lieges.

Without a doubt, the 1954 Lancia Aurelia B24 Spider is a luxury car that outmatched its competition by leaps and bounds. A combination of speed, power, and elegance, the 1954 Lancia Aurelia B24 Spider is truly one of the classic cars of the 1950s and in my opinion one of the best cars that was ever made.
