Nissan Recalling 600,000 Cars for Steering, Battery Problems

Japan’s Nissan Motors is recalling more than 600,000 cars across North and South America because of steering or battery cable problems.

Thursday’s recall mostly affects Nissan vehicles in the United States, Canada, Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico.

Nissan says a corrosion problem in the lower steering column in Frontier pickup trucks and Xterra sport utility vehicles could make it hard to turn the cars.

Also, a battery cable problem in Nissan Sentras could make the cars stall at low speeds or hard to start.

Nissan says no accidents or injuries have been reported because of the problems.

Last month, Nissan recalled more than 2 million cars around the world because of a faulty ignition system.
