26 Feared Dead in India Bus Accident

As least 26 people are feared dead after a bus carrying nearly 30 people plunged into a reservoir in the southwestern Indian state of Karnataka.

Local officials said Tuesday the bus was carrying a wedding party when the driver reportedly lost control on a bridge on the outskirts of Mysore city.

Police said that 13 bodies were recovered, but warned the death toll could rise as search efforts continued. Several passengers managed to swim to safety.

An investigation into the accident is under way.
