Police in India's remote northeast say a bus carrying a wedding party has plunged into a pond, killing at least 26 people.
Authorities said Tuesday the accident happened near the village of Hajo in Assam state, when a wooden bridge gave way.
The bus was carrying at least 40 passengers.
Villagers pulled bodies from the pond, and at at least six people were taken alive to a local hospital.
