Bryan Silas Solid In Windy City; Builds Momentum

STUART, Florida (September 20, 2011) - - Floridian Bryan Silas represented the Sunshine State well this past Friday night at Chicagoland Speedway when he wheeled his No. 09 Rockingham Speedway Ford F-150 to a solid 21st place finish in the Good Sam 200 for the recently reformed T3R operation.

The Stuart, Florida native made his fourth NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) start of the season and second for T3R in his inaugural truck debut at the 1.5-mile oval. The team considered the weekend a success after their 24-year old driver led the go-or-go-home group in practice and then posted the fastest time of that same bunch in qualifying which landed the ARCA Racing Series veteran a NCWTS career-best 21st starting spot for the race.

With crew chief Cal Boprey calling the shots, Silas utilized the 18th race of the season to digest himself around some of the series’ finest drivers. Despite initial contact in the early stages of the race with another competitor which crinkled the fender on his No. 09 Rockingham Speedway Ford F-150 and significantly changed the handling of his vehicle, the team was able to maintain competitive speeds and earn priceless track time which resulted in Silas finishing in the same position he started.

“I had a blast,” offered Silas. “We’re learning a lot about these new Ford trucks that have been added to the T3R stable. I cannot tell you what it felt like to go out there and be the fastest truck of the teams required to qualify on time. It’s meaningful to me, because we’ve come a long way in a short amount of time. We’re all looking forward to building on this successful run and hope for improved performances in the near future.”

Just seven events remain in the 2011 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season. Silas and his T3R team plan to run selected events for the remainder of the year while hoping to up their ante with a more prominent presence in 2012.
