Motor transportation in Egypt, particularly with regard to taxicabs and commercial vehicles, received a considerable impetus during 1921. In Alexandria there are over 1,600 passenger cars, 234 being taxis, and 120 trucks; in Cairo there are about 2,200 passenger cars and 110 motor trucks. Motor cycles in these two cities number about 350 and 900, respectively.
