ON AFFECTED MOTORCYCLES, HIGH OIL PRESSURE CAN BUILD UP INSIDE THE OIL PUMP CAUSING IT TO MALFUNCTION. OIL MIGHT THEN STOP PUMPING THROUGH THE ENGINE RESULTING IN SEVERE ENGINE DAMAGE THAT CAN CAUSE THE ENGINE TO STALL AND NOT RESTART AGAIN. Consequence: AN ENGINE STALL CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH WITH INJURY OR DEATH. Remedy: YAMAHA DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE OIL PUMP FREE OF CHARGE. THE SAFETY RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN DURING OCTOBER 2011. OWNERS MAY CONTACT YAMAHA AT 1-800-962-7926.
