Technology Company
A major manufacturer of personal computers and personal data devices (tablets, smartphones, and connected wristwatches). Founded 1 April 1976 and based in Cupertino, California, USA.
While not primarily an automotive technology company, Apple has developed technology for automotive use. Most notable as of 2016 is their "CarPlay" system of connecting their popular iPhone smartphones to automobiles equipped with CarPlay systems for navigation, entertainment, and connectivity functions. Apple is also rumored to be developing autonomous vehicle technology.
