McHenry County Sheriff's Department Damaged Car McHenry County Sheriff's Department Damaged Car

Friday's storm that blew through McHenry County was hard on the McHenry County Sheriff's Department's fleet. Three vehicles assigned to supervisors were damaged. Any others?

An early evening crash on Route 47 near O'Brien Road, south of Hebron, damaged a Chevrolet Impala driven by an MCSD lieutenant. This one ought to be worth the $5 to find out what happened.

Another vehicle, Unit 509 (pictured) incurred damage to the hood, light bar and left-side mirror and spotlight. There is a major dent on the right front of the hood, twigs in the light bar and the spotlight was knocked off. The driver's outside mirror was broken and dangling on the door.

A third vehicle, assigned to an MCSD sergeant, was also damaged during the storm.

The public ought to be curious why three MCSD vehicles were damaged in one storm and whether the other two were parked or in use. Good public relations would result in release of details to media without the necessity of FOIA requests to pry the information loose from MCSD.
