CHARLOTTE NC (March 12, 2012) - There will be more than one BMR Motorsports car taking the green flag this season at Southern National Motorsports Park, as Clifton Savage joins teammate Garrett Marchant for 2012. Savage will drive the No. 76 BMR Motorsports Limited Late Model throughout the season. Clifton's schedule will depend on sponsorship and his first race will be announced at a later date on the BMR Motorsports Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/BMRMotorsports
BMR Motorsports has three generations of Marchants involved in the racing organization including Garrett, his father, and his grandfather. The team is looking forward to adding Clifton Savage to the mix and helping him gain time in a Limited Late Model. Both BMR Motorsports drivers will be rookies at Southern National and are both involved in the RACE 101 Program. Marchant is a current student of the program while Savage graduated in 2010 and is currently an ambassador for the organization.
"This is a really great opportunity to get with Garrett and his entire family especially at a new track, should be a great year for all of us" Savage noted about climbing aboard the BMR Motorsports team for a season of excitement. Clifton is from Newport News, VA and has several years of racing experience under his belts. He is best known for his racing in the Pro Wing Champ Kart division at Langley Speedway, where he has won twice. In addition to his success on the track, Savage started the CHKD 100 Charity Go-Kart race in October 2010.
Garrett Marchant is looking forward to racing with Clifton Savage this season and beyond. "I am really excited to have a teammate in Clifton; he is going to be a great addition to the team. He could help me potentially win races and a championship at Southern National. I am super excited to work with him and hopefully we can learn from each other" Garrett explained about the newest addition to the BMR team. Garrett's father and co-owner of the team, Burney Marchant, added "we have complete and total belief in him (Clifton). We hope to race five races this year and full time in 2013 with Clifton."
Savage is in need of marketing partners so that he can gain the experience this year to make a run at the 2013 championship.
