CHARLOTTE NC (September 18, 2012) – Fifteen year old Garrett Marchant’s 2012 season behind the wheel at Southern National came to a close this past Saturday. Marchant was behind the wheel of the No. 76 Lone Star Car Transportation / @WalgreensCVAZ Chevy for his last race of the year. His last race of the season was Marchant’s first race in the Charger division where he would go on to qualify in eighth and finish eleventh. After going through several tough days leading up to the race the Marchant’s and BMR Motorsports decided that the Charger class would be the best way for Garrett to end the season.

During the race on September 15, Marchant had the support of his fans throughout the entire length. This weekend the No. 76 displayed the names of fans that supported Marchant all season long including those who donated to help him get his car repaired several times this year when trouble stuck the No. 77. When lap 28 popped up on the scoring tower the No. 76 was headed back to the garage after the car started to smoke. After the race Garrett stated that the car was overheating and it was time to bring in the car.

“This year has been tough on my entire crew and myself and I cannot thank my fans enough for their support this season. We are going to come back in 2013 and go after wins and the championship. You better believe,” Garrett Marchant expressed after exiting his racecar for the last time in 2012. The 2013 season will be here before we know it, but there is more announcements and news to come from Garrett Marchant Racing this season. Make sure to pay attention to Marchant’s website and Facebook over the next couple of months for an award announcement, charity auction, and possible sponsorship news!
