CHARLOTTE, N.C. (April 27, 2010) – Teen safe driving organization B.R.A.K.E.S. will benefit from a mobile marketing campaign powered by BoomText with support from Empire Racing and driver Sean Corr.
Empire Racing and Sean Corr, who competes in the ARCA Racing Series, have promoted B.R.A.K.E.S. to help spread awareness about safe teen driving for over a year. The “Hard Corr Fans” program is the team’s version of a Fan Club and benefits three different charities including B.R.A.K.E.S.
“Sean has been behind B.R.A.K.E.S. for awhile now and I think it is great that he is taking his support to the next level by helping us raise funds for the charity,” said B.R.A.K.E.S. Executive Director Matt Reilly. “Teenagers look up to drivers like Sean and he is setting a good example by showing them the importance of being safe and responsible – on the race track and on the road.”
“This is something completely out of the box,” said driver Sean Corr. “We’ve been working on this idea for about a month and a half and have found a great partner in BoomText to allow our ‘Hard Corr Fans’ program to launch.”
To join the campaign, fans text the word “CORR” to 411247. They will receive a response with a welcome text from the two companies before receiving a follow-up text to a secure website where they can make their pledge amount, which starts at $10.00. The program will also be available through the team’s website at www.empireracingllc.com.
The B.R.A.K.E.S. Teen Driving School, designed for teenagers aged 15-19 who already have their learner’s permit or driver’s license and at least thirty hours of driving experience, is offered free of charge to all participants. Professional driving instructors train teenagers on key defensive driving techniques including accident avoidance, emergency lane change, panic stops, skidding and more. Since the school started in 2008 the organization has provided free, behind-the-wheel training to over 2,000 teenagers from 15 different states.
