Sarah Cornett-Ching
TOLEDO, Ohio (May 18, 2015) - - ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards driver Sarah Cornett-Ching (@scornettching) was released from a local Toledo, Ohio hospital Sunday evening following a precautionary measure after her exit from the Menards 200 presented by Federated Car Care.

During the event, Cornett-Ching experienced an electrical malfunction which caused several components including her A/C unit to stop working.

Forced to park her No. 2 RACE 101 Chevrolet because of the issue, Cornett-Ching as a precaution was evaluated by track personnel and later transported.

Cornett-Ching was treated for dehydration and elevated carbon monoxide levels and released shortly thereafter. The SCOTT Rookie of the Year candidate plans to compete in Sunday’s ARCA 150 presented by Unique Pretzels at New Jersey Motorsports Park.

“I want to thank my fans, my fellow competitors and associates for their outpouring of support,” said Cornett-Ching. “We had an extremely competitive No. 2 RACE 101 Chevrolet yesterday, but an electrical malfunction after the rain delay cut power to most of the components inside the racecar, including my A/C unit.

“The team made every effort to correct the situation, but they couldn’t. After our exit from the race, I was extremely hot, so as a precaution I was looked at by the team’s medical team who along with my car owner and driver coach Tony Blanchard felt it was best to be checked out at a local hospital.

I was there a short time, released and I feel fine today. I’ll be back to 100 percent and ready for New Jersey on Sunday.”
