This is the Porsche 911 50 Years Edition. It is a rather tasty special edition 911 released to celebrate 50 years of 911.
The 911 50 Years Edition gets the 400hp 3.8 litre flat six with rear wheel drive and PDK or manual gearbox and houses it in the wider rear body normally associated with a Carrera 4. In effect it's a Carrera S in the Carrera 4 S body.
To celebrate this as a unique model various touches abound, such as chromed strips on the fins of the engine compartment grille and trim on the front air inlets. The 20 inch wheels, unique to this model, are designed to emulate the original 5-spoke Fuchs wheels.
The car is available in 3 colours. Graphite Grey and Geyser Grey are unique to the 50 Year Edition and it is also available in black.
Inside and apart from various touches such as green labelled instruments with white needles the most obvious blast from the past are the hounds tooth seats.
The Porsche 911 50 Years Edition is limited to 1963 units (German humour!) and costs £92,257. It can be ordered now with the first right hand drive examples arriving in UK Porsche dealers in September.
