Porsche have revealed full details of the 991 GT3 at it's launch at the Geneva Motor Show
As we revealed two weeks ago the 2013 Porsche 911 GT3 will be powered by a new version of the engine found in the 911 Carrera - a 3.8 litre flat six, which develops 475hp and 324lb ft of torque, and revs to an incredible 9000rpm. Unfortunately the only gearbox option will be a seven speed PDK semi-automatic - no manual, which is sure to disappoint, although Porsche do love their PDKs.
The price is £100,540 and 0-62mph is achieved in 3.5 seconds, 0-124mph in 12 seconds, with a top speed of 196mph. The GT3 has lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife in under 7 minutes 30 seconds. First UK deliveries will take place in November 2013.
The 991 GT3 is released in the year the 911 celebrates it's 50th anniversary and is a spectacular way to celebrate it's anniversary. The GT3 is on it's fifth generation and 14,145 have been sold to date.
The GT3 weighs 1430kg and returns a rather meagre 22.8mpg on the combined cycle - but who cares about mpg with all that performance. With the super expensive Ferrari LaFerrari and McLaren P1 on the horizon the GT3 is in line to make them both look a tad expensive. We know the P1 will cost £800,000, and the LaFerrari won't be far off that figure - eight times more than the GT3.
And for your £100,540 you get such tech as four wheel steer, dynamic engine mounts, sports exhaust, PASM and Porsche Torque Vectoring.
The press release with all the specs from Porsche is rather long so we've published it as a separate item -
you can read it in full here.
