Boehner Statement on Vice President Biden’s Visit to Cleveland, OH

Publisher: Office of Congressman John Boehner
Date: 14 May 2014
Dateline: Washington, D.C.
Subject: American Government , Roads & Highways
Topic: Vice President Joe Biden

WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman John Boehner (R-West Chester) today released the below statement following Vice President Biden’s remarks in Cleveland, OH.

“I’ve made clear many times this year that a highway bill is a top priority, and I hope both parties can work in a bipartisan way to craft a fiscally-responsible bill that helps our economy and rebuilds our aging infrastructure. What I didn’t hear the vice president address is the question that many Ohioans are still asking, and that’s, ‘Where are the jobs?’ In Ohio, there are Republican economic solutions that are being put in place and working – such as low taxes, balanced budgets and education reform. In the U.S. House, we’ve echoed those efforts and have sent dozens of jobs bills over to the United States Senate – but they’re stuck sitting there. As I’ve said before, Democrats in Washington could learn a lot from what we’re doing in Ohio, and if this administration is serious about creating jobs and expanding our economy, they could start right now by taking up the dozens of House-passed jobs bills that would spur economic growth and create jobs.”

NOTE: A complete list of U.S. House-passed jobs bills, the majority of which are awaiting action by the Democratic-led Senate, is available at www.speaker.gov/jobs. The House GOP Plan for Economic Growth & Jobs is available here.
