Founded in 1996 when the realization that many in the community would benefit greatly with a helping hand in obtaining basic transportation and talking with many outreach programs that said," transportation for the people leaving their programs was a real problem in helping them back in the community". We are not giving away new cars Franz said, recipients don't care how new the car was as it wasn't about winning a prize, it's about obtaining freedom, the freedom to get to the doctor, store or get to a job across town, get to town if you live in a rural area or live where public transportation is poor. They have given over two hundred vehicles to people in the community and if you wonder if there is a need for such a project, they receive over 2000 requests a year in Kansas City alone.
