The Škoda Enyaq iV is an all-electric crossover SUV manufactured by Škoda Auto. Its first development version, the Vision E, was first introduced in 2017, and its second version, called the Vision iV, was introduced in March 2019. The official premiere took place on 1 September 2020 in Prague. The serial production commenced in November 2020. The first cars will be delivered to customers in Western and Central Europe in May 2021.
The production model is called Enyaq iV and was revealed on September 1, 2020. It is assembled at The Škoda plant in Mladá Boleslav, Czech Republic for the European market. It is the first Škoda car to utilize the Volkswagen Group MEB platform. The Volkswagen ID.4 is a sister model, identical except for the front and rear end. The serial production of the car for the European market in the Czech Republic commenced on 25 November 2020.
The name is derived from the Irish name Enya, which originates from the Gaelic word ‘eithne’, meaning ‘essence, spirit or principle’. The Enyaq is the first model of a new naming convention within the Škoda's range where electric models' names will start with ‘E’.
The Enyaq iV will be available either as rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, with three different battery capacities and five performance versions. The base model will have a 55 kWh battery pack and a 109 kW (148 PS; 146 bhp) electric motor mounted on the rear axle. There'll also be a sporty RS variant with 225 kW (306 PS; 302 bhp) motor.
The Škoda Enyaq has a drag coefficient of Cd=0.27.
The boot holds 585 litres, but there is no storage under the bonnet unlike in some electric vehicles.
