A .526 mile race track in Martinsville, Virginia. The only track that has been on the NASCAR schedule from the beginning.
Built in 1947 by H. Clay Earles. The first race ever held at the track was won by Red Byron. The track began as a dirt track but has since been paved.
Grandstand names include (as of 1999) the Winston Tower, Hanes Tower, Goody's Tower, Richard Petty Tower, Clay Earles Tower, and East Grandstand.
