Woofcast #124 January 14, 2007 Duration: 26:21 We start the week with some good old fashioned IE bashing. We also spent quite a bit of time talking about the Apple iPhone (or whatever it will be called) but you will have to check back later in the week to hear that. Plus, news of the week from Motoringfile. Tune in tomorrow as we spend some time talking about the MINIUSA Motorby program and get the low-down about AMVIV from Andrew ‘Agro’ Ross. Woofcast #125 January 15, 2007 Duration: 1:01:18 Starting off with some pigskin talk. Keeping these guys on track sometimes is really a chore! Turns out Gabe gets to drive the R56 Superbowl weekend, so Todd and I were telling him how best to proceed. Also, we do go long tonight with the interview. Tonight we interviewed Andrew ‘Agro’ Ross about the upcoming AMVIV IV, but first, we spent some time talking about the Motorby pilot program, previously reported over at Motoringfile and picked up by every automotive web site as well as SlashDot. A few quick notes about run-flat tires too. All of the MINI OEM wheels will take a non-runflat tire Non-run flat tires WILL improve your ride quality if you have an R50 or R53 Non-run flat tires WILL change the handling characteristics of your MINI Non-run flat tires are cheaper than run-flats Non-run flat tires won’t run flat. You will need a kit (slime, air pump), a cell phone, a AAA card or all three. WRR Listener AGrainger has put together a great list of supplies that he carries with him over at this NAM thread. I think you might find the list a little big, but you will get some great ideas from it. Thanks Aaron! Woofcast #126 January 21, 2007 Duration: 54:18 We start by answering some questions sent in via email from what I think is our only Zune listener. He asked about the MCAW Auto-Up circuit, the Aux Port adapter and Euro Parcel shelf. Of course, if you use any of these, please feel free to share your experiences with them in the comments below! There is a website too that lists all of the recalls for BMW and MINI. I have lost the address but I will hunt through my history and try to find it. You should also be able to get that from your Service Advisor, bribing tips included. Oh yea, Randy Webb. Takes a break from flying to sit in on the news with us tonight. We do go long but we spent a lot of time on the news with the new R56 pictures posted this week and we spent some time talking about the upcoming release of the BMW 1 Series in the US. Be sure to check in tomorrow when we actually get to ask Randy where the hell he has been, what’s going on with Webb Motorsports and what’s coming up in the future. You are going to want to check this out for sure! This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 United States License. Woofcast #127 January 22, 2007 Duration: 45:40 Or the “where the hell has Randy been show”. WARNING…this episode wasn’t edited as much as others. There might be parts here that will make your fellow cube dwellers look over at you to see what you are looking at. No f bombs or anything, but when you start talking about the H2, things can get silly. We turn Randy loose on the mic to fill us in on what he has been up to and squash some rumors. No, he hasn’t been fixing Hummers or running the shop at a go fast ranch. He also revisits our weekend in St. Louis, when Todd let his car be transformed into the Mule v2.0 and throws out big thanks to EVERYONE that helped Randy finish the NAMCC season last year. Watch for changes upcoming at Webb Motorsports. Like a brand new chatroom and new monthly podcast! And don’t forget the best way to get ahold of Randy is via email. That’s randy (at) webbmotorsports (dot) com. It’s also all over the site as well. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 United States License. Woofcast #128 January 28, 2007 Duration: 38:33 Watch out! We started with weather and a little Super Bowl talk. Imagine a little Gabe doing the Super Bowl shuffle. How cute. db talks about his MINI week getting tires. Kumho Ecsta ASX instead of the SPTs. Watch for a review to follow. Did you read about the new scented tire from Kumho? Colored smoke, sure. But scented? If you are one that is looking for an easy way to manage the older shows that aren’t included in the feed? Definitely listen in. Plus, news of the week from Motoringfile. Including more talk on the 1 Series (yes, again) (yes I did, in fact, roll my eyes). This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 United States License. Keep a watch out for Brad Day’s upcoming audio review of the Zune. I would expect to have that ready by the middle of February. If you are a fan of Robert in Toronto’s work, he has started his own podcast! He goes to a lot of movies with his wife, so they are reviewing them in his MINI! You can check it out over at his site or here at iTunes. And, if you are looking for some great info on Cruising, be sure to check out My Cruise Planner, run by Michael and Patricia Babishkin. They have a great podcast too! You can find them at iTunes here. Finally, this just in, but we will have Phil Wicks from the NAMCC on next week! Should be great. We are also huge proponents of the track day! One of the best mods you can make to your car is to tighten up the nut behind the wheel. It’s official…Mr. Gabriel Bridger will be joining us at AMVIV this year! If you didn’t get a room yet, the discounted room rate is no longer available, but there are still room available. You can get all of the info you need over at AMVIV.com. Woofcast #132 February 11, 2007 Duration: 31:15 Gabe is chomping at the bit to talk about the R56 press release, I still made him wait until tomorrow. Todd bought a green shuffle. Can’t figure out why. He also says when he opens a box of an apple product, he gets a timpani roll, angels sing and lights shine. Another AMVIV update. We are all going to be there, in case you weren’t paying attention. Todd has 1 slot left for graphics installs. Leave a comment below or shoot him an email. Are you a new listener? Feel free to chime in in the comments below or you can use the voice mail line at (206) 33-WHITE. Plus we cover news of the week from Motoringfile. Woofcast #136 February 25, 2007 Duration: 42:03 Before I begin, please ignore the mismatched show numbers. Pretty please? But first, if you are going to AMVIV, be sure to download the event guide that Michael, Patricia and I did last week. Who hates the JCW drilled rotors? Todd seems to think that everyone hates them. So, I finally drove an R56 and we took quite a bit of time discussing the car, since we have all driven one. Yea, this car is all good in my opionion as long as the arches aren’t painted. I also give my reason why I think everyone thinks the interior looks cheap. Of course, we discussed it at length. By the end of it, Todd is still a hater while Gabe and myself still think it’s a pretty great car. Plus the last 2 weeks of news, pretty much, from Motoringfile. Be sure to check those out! Also, if you have any tips for Robert so he can sneak into the Owners Lounge, comment below. Show off your Motoringbadges! Let us see your collections. There might be a prize involved. Todd is starting to hear noises in the GP. Sound effects ensue. Possible WRR Meet-up at the plant in Oxford. Anyone interested? Oh yea, if you haven’t already, be sure to check out the MINI United Flickr Group. When we do finally get around to news, we talk first about some MINI United stuff, then the little bit of news from Motoringfile. And if you are one of the MINIs that will be driving through the Chunnel, we have a few recommedations for you. Any ideas for the abbreviation for the Clubman? db pays too much for gas | Woofcast #154 May 7, 2007 Duration: 42:12 Robert joins us again while Gabe was at MoTD. Again we start off talking about food. At least it’s not the weather eh? Robert might have a 2 MINI household soon. As soon as he can talk his wife into giving up the Mustang. A little club talk. What happened to all the Canadian MINI enthusiasts? Clubs in the US are going gangbusters, while not so much in the Great White North. Comment below with your thoughts. Todd still has love for the xB. No, really, he does. Don’t let him fool you! Can anyone heel/toe in Birkenstocks? Then we get in some great rant time about the price of gas. I’m happy to have finally found someone that has to pay as much as I did. It’s really time to start complaining about this again we think. Oh yea, plus some more tips on how to save gas. Let us know your thoughts on the price of gas in the comments below. Paying too much? Not enough? Let us know! It’s really something that we were able to actually get this show up tonight. We had serious connection issues tonight due, no doubt, in part to packet shaping by the Canadian ISPs. That’s part of the reason for the echo. Come back next week when Gabe returns. I’m sure he’s going to be talking about the Dragon, the R56 and the R56 at the Dragon. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 United States License. Woofcast #155 May 13, 2007 Duration: 43:38 Lets try this again… Gabe’s back from the dragon, but he is without a staff this night. We cover news of the week from Motoringfile after some listener feedback and a little bit of weather talk. Hey, Todd’s getting flooded, so it’s ok. Check back tomorrow for Gabes thoughts on the R56 and the Dragon. He really enjoyed driving the R56. I mean, really. Check back tomorrow! Woofcast #156 May 14, 2007 Duration: 34:50 Big show. Before Gabe gets into his love of the R56… db is revving the gadget review back up. Watch for the Zune/Ipod comparision this week! Gabe has a few gadgets he wants to review, plus you just know that db will be reviewing his digital camera soon too. So, is Gabe ready to give up the R53 for an R56? You are going to have to listen for a few clues. And remember, his official long term R56 review goes up on Wednesday. He tells me all questions will be answered then. Plus, he had a great time at the Dragon. There is a good chance that one had a big effect on the other. As mentioned, check back Friday for the Zune Review with Brad Day from The Tech Lounge and watch next week for a review of the Treo 750 with Michael Babishkin. Woofcast #157 May 20, 2007 Duration: 48:49 Ah yes. Another Sunday, another Woofcast. Of course, it’s news of the week from Motoringfile.com, but not before we spend some time discussing why Gabe’s eyes are red, bleeps and beeps and cursing during the show, this video (very much not safe for work) and staying at Buckingham Palace. If you are looking for older shows, I have updated the archive page to Woofcast #150 if you are looking to get the older shows. The best way to do it is just right click any of the links on that page (or cmd-click for you mac users) and choose save as. Gabe is looking for places to stay in Germany. While we are at it, if there is anyone out there that can recommend a decent pub for Todd and I to check out when we are in London that would be great too. We are staying in Kensington, if that helps. Oh yea. Gabe has a MySpace page. Oh no, no link for you. You’re going to have to work for it. Woofcast #158 May 21, 2007 Duration: 48:49 Before I even start, just a quick note to the affliates we do go long tonight. I trimmed about 7.5 minutes out. Watch for an out-take show later in the week. So, more talk about MINI United. I have my passport and ticket just like everyone else, so we must be good to go. Then we spent some time talking about Gabe’s R56 spec. And just a lot of things in general. We think you’ll enjoy the show! Coming up later this week is the Treo 750 Review that I did with Michael Babishkin. If you are thinking about getting this phone or are just interested, be sure to check back for that. And, like I mentioned earlier, watch for an out-take show as well. We got off on a movie tangent (easy there Robert) and the possibility of Gabe being a tatoo artist. Woofcast #159 May 27, 2007 Duration: 26:12 News of the week from Motoringfile.com with db and Gabe. Todd was busy with house stuff this week, so we let him have the night off. For those of you that missed it, we did broadcast the show live via ustream.tv with both audio and video! It was actually so cool that we will be doing that again this week. Check back on Thursday between 6:30PM PST and 8:30PM PST. The video is quite good and so is the audio. In fact, if you only wanted to listen live this is the best option I have come across yet. We’ll be able to answer your questions live as well. So check back! And, yes, I am well of aware of any weird audio quality issues that you might be wanting to mention below. I had more than a little difficulty with my recording setup. I have paid proper homage to the audio recording gods (and ran through some testing with my setup again) to make sure that it doesn’t happen again, I hope. Woofcast #160 May 28, 2007 Duration: 41:10 Another live show, courtesy of ustream.tv. We gave Todd the night off so he could work on getting his house ready to sell. I would also like to start by apologizing for the audio quality. I just couldn’t get the levels right. It will be better next week! WRR is now on Facebook for those of you that play there. You can check out the WRR Group here. We do spend some time talking about Gabe’s spec and the parting out of his R53. He is going to be selling his leather dash too, but you have to be local to Chicago or not mind the drive. If you are interested, leave a note below. And we talked again about buying a used MINI and what to watch out for a little bit. Gabe and I are still working on the R50/R53 buyers guide and should have it done before we head to MINI United. This is something we talked about before way back on Woof 26. We do a little mind changing this time around, especially when buying an early build car, but only if you can get a warranty from the dealer. If any of you out there Dark Silver owners have put an Aero kit on your MINI and you still have the original front and rear bumpers, Brian Black is in need of them. Or, if your dealer has a set that they would be willing to donate, again, leave a note below. Finally, for those of you that missed it, we did broadcast the show live via ustream.tv with both audio and video! It was actually so cool that we will be doing that again this week. Check back on Thursday between 9:00 EST / 6:00PM PST and 11:00 EST / 8:00PM PST. The video is quite good and so is the audio. This is the last one we will be doing until we test it some more, but we will be doing it again, don’t you worry. Once we did get started, we rolled through news of the week from Motoringfile.com and spent a little bit of time talking about this post trying to get the MINI D here in the states. Check back tomorrow when we discuss MINI United, Todd selling his house and answer listener voicemails. We’ll answer yours too if you play along. Woofcast #163 June 10, 2007 Duration: 33:05 Some recording issues tonight. I, not being the master mixologist that Mr. Pearson is, lost the first 20 minutes of the show. Actually, I have it, but it sounds really really bad. I will be uploading it later today so you can download it if you like, but I will not be putting it into the feed. Otherwise, it was news of the week from Motoringfile.com and motorcycle races on db’s street. UPDATE – You can download the first 20 minutes here. It sounds very bad. I did what I could to clean it up. Oh yea, it also will only play in your left speaker (or ear if you are using headphones). Woofcast #165 July 1, 2007 Duration: 54:46 Back on track after a week of MINI United. I know it seems like it’s been awhile since we did a regular show, but that is only because it has been! We’re back on it. Of course, I let the lads start off by talking about the iPhone. Enjoy it now as I’m not sure I’ll be able to stand any more of it. Skip ahead 10 minutes if you don’t want to hear it. Gabe gave us his update on the status of his R56 and his time on the ‘ring. If you haven’t heard that yet, click over to this post and give it a listen. Of course, we talked about news of the week and a little bit about MINI United. Woofcast #166 July 3, 2007 Duration: 38:57 Our recap of MINI United. Not a bad outing since Todd was only sorta here. We noticed some interesting things about driving in Europe like the number of bicycles. They were everywhere! Todd and I toured the MINI factory, Gabe drove on the ‘Ring plus we got to talk all those great people you already heard interviews of! It was a great event to be sure and if I were you, I’d start saving up for MINI United 2009 now! It will be worth it. Woofcast #167 July 15, 2007 Duration: 58:21 Big show tonight, BIG SHOW! Back from a week off after MINI United. We were all seriously in the weeds. But, we’re back starting off talking about Transformers. Don’t worry, no spoilers, really. Gabe gives us an update on his R56. We are keeping fingers crossed that he gets it this week. We are done with MINI United Audio. We aren’t hiding anything from you. We certainly hope you enjoyed the coverage! Plus, we do news of the week. You can tell we haven’t done this in a while by the length of the show. It kinda got away from us. Don’t worry, we don’t take nearly as much of your time tomorrow night! Oh yea, new theme music. Woofcast #168 July 16, 2007 Duration: 31:36 Who knew that Gabe could snap like Bozo the Clown? Once that was discovered, Gabe chatted a bit about the upcoming 1 Series (who knew it would be so heavy?) Then we spent some time talking about Porches (who knew the 914 was so small?) which then turned us a little bit toward Volkswagon (who knew the Thing was so cool?). Then, a bit of listener feedback. Voicemails from MINI United (who knew db could not really remember the girls in the windows?) and 1 from Ian about automatic transmissions (who knew we could still be talking about this?). We finish talking about the Clubman and would be very interested in your opinion! Leave a comment below Clubman MC vs. Clubman MCS (we already know that we won’t get the diesel Clubman in the States). Woofcast #169 July 22, 2007 Duration: 52:33 Todd throws some shout-outs to the KC club, we talk a little bit about the Clubman’s engine and Gabe gets his R56. Which he talks about even more on Woof #170. And, db went to the Fireballed! SeminarBQ and got a scoop from Fireball Tim about the shops involvement with Street Tuner Challenge on SpeedTV. More on that will be coming later in the week. And, of course, news of the week from Motoringfile.com. There wasn’t that much news, but each item we discussed in greater than normal detail since there were quite a few hot button topics. Again, we go a bit long, but we really had a lot to talk about. Oh yea, we are looking for click monkeys! If you happen to have iTunes open, go the WRR page (link below) and click the subscribe button as many times as you like. Woofcast #170 July 23, 2007 Duration: 43:58 2nd night with the new theme music, what do you think? We roll into Gabe’s R56 talk with his new theme. What do you think? He brought his MINI home and parked it in the garage. The End. After I reminded him that he only bought a MINI and didn’t win an award, he gives us his initial thoughts. As you would imagine, so far, he is loving his R56! You can read his first week review at Motoringfile.com here. And I get to talk a little bit about alternative fuels. I think it was about 45 seconds, but didn’t really check the time. Don’t worry, I’ll keep on hammering the guys until they have no choice but to let me talk about it! Todd’s out this week moving, so Gabe and I are going to take advantage of that and do another video show. Maybe. For those of you that caught the last, you know what a nightmare it was. I’ve been playing with ustream lately and they have made some great improvements in the software, so it should be a much simpler process. Watch this space for more information. If we do video, it will be Thursday at 6:30PM PST/8:30PM CST/ 9:30 EST. We’ve had a few new reviews on iTunes, thank you! If you are one that hasn’t done that, and feel so inclined, just click over to the WRR page at iTunes. Feel free to click on that subscribe button a few times too. Woofcast #171 July 29, 2007 Duration: 28:44 News of the week from Motoringfile as usual, but with a twist. Todd wasn’t around, so Gabe and I, last minute, decided to do the show live via Ustream.tv. Besides news, db tells a bad joke and talks about EBC brake pads, and Gabe talks about removing the armrest out of his car. Check back tomorrow our discussion about the Clubman, including answering viewer questions live! Whiteroofradio turns 2 on Wednesday, August 1st, and we will be celebrating it on Woof 173/174. Woofcast #172 July 30, 2007 Duration: 47:35 Just Gabe and I again tonight, again via Ustream.tv. Yea, I know, you didn’t hear about it. We kinda snuck it in to do some testing, since the last time we did it was such a disaster. We spend tonight talking mostly about the Clubman, including answering questions from the viewers. To finish, we spent a few minutes on the iPhone. By the time you read this, Todd is all the way moved and still living out of boxes! That’s why he wasn’t around this week. We gave him the night off so he could finish moving, because we are cool like that. This week we will be doing our 2nd anniversary show. There is a very good chance we will do it live again, on video. Keep an eye out here and at Motoringfile for details. I can’t say for sure, but if we do a live show, it will be on Thursday starting at around 9PM CST (do the math, forward and back, for your time zone). Sorry to those of you outside of the US that can’t make it. This is the only time we have to actually record the show. And HUGE thanks to the click monkeys! Woofcast #173 August 5, 2007 Duration: 31:42 A very successful attempt at a live show, again via uStream.tv and Motoringfile. For those of you that stopped by for the first show, you patience was appreciated as uStream was having a little bit of problems. The 2nd show was much better, both audio and video. I am currently experimenting with an audio only solution (not sure Gabe will like that) that might work out better than the video. More experimentation will ensue. Otherwise, news of the week from Motoringfile plus we answer a few listener emails. Oh yea, WRR turned 2 last Wednesday. Still the #1 independant automotive podcast in iTunes for the last 2 weeks as well. THANK YOU! If you were one that caught us live, be sure to let us know what you thought below. Hit ‘em up for details! Besides that, we spend some more time, for Todds benefit, discussing the Clubman, especially since we got all the new pictures and video last week. The live show worked very well this week and I’m fairly certain that we will do it again. We are going to try to come up a regular schedule for doing the live shows. That and the fact that SoCal has cheaper gas prices than the midwest. How did that happen? Plus, a very cool email shout-out. No, you are going to have to listen to find out. Todd at WRR Headquarters, db at WRR Studios West (that has a nice sound I think) and Gabe from the Indiana Toll Road in his R56. There was some great news this week from Motoringfile, so if you didn’t get the chance to catch it all, don’t forget to go back and get caught up! Woofcast #178 August 20, 2007 Duration: 35:56 A little talk about some issues we had during the week as Gabe drove back into Chicago. He wasn’t under attack, it was the air show in town. If you are an ’02 to early ’03 and you have the drilled control arms, you might want to check those out for cracks or bends. You can pick them up at your dealer or any of the fine sponsors listed on the right for a great price and they take 10 minutes with a jack, an 18mm socket and a 18mm box wrench. Definitely worth it for the piece of mind. Oh yea, while you are inspecting them, Gabe thinks it would be a good idea to check for rodents. Looking for Gabe’s Ortega Highway joke? Woof 66 is where you will find it. Then our top 5 mods for the ’02 – ’06 R53. I think we picked the standard mods, but if we missed something, let us know in the comments! It’s pretty nasty, so consider yourself warned. Wingnut calls in (finally) and reports that the Euro Parcel shelf has, in fact, been crash tested and no one was hurt because of it. We also do a pretty good job answering his question about brakes. We also spend some time talking about wheel sizing. Among the news, we covered this post at Motoringfile, where I asked what’s so hot about all-wheel drive. Besides wanting/needing it for safety in bad weather or racing in the dirt, why would you want this on a MINI? I’m seeing it as a crutch. Please convince me otherwise, I honestly don’t get it. Check back tomorrow for Gabe on the track in his R56 and Todd in St. Louis. Plus, a short update from Robert in Toronto! Woofcast #181 September 2, 2007 Duration: 40:04 Starting off talking about the weather. I’m roasting in SoCal while Gabe and Todd are enjoying nice weather. Of course, we had to talk about A/C performance while we were at it. Remember, my A/C has been track tested to 11.5 second quarter mile. AMVIV 5 IS A GO! Info is posted on NAM and Agro tells me he will be updating amviv.com very soon. Oh yea, we have no idea what’s happening for MTTS in ’08. Just keep it tuned to WRR and Motoringfile for details when they come in. If you don’t have speedTV, now would be a good time to start planning that so you can catch the next Street Tuner Challenge coming up in October. I should be heading up to the shop next week to get an update from Tim and the boys. Remember, the best way to get the Woofcast is to subscribe! Click the subscribe link at the top of the page for complete directions. Plus, news of the week. Check back tomorrow for some great info about Gabe’s JCW Suspension on the track. Woofcast #186 September 17, 2007 Duration: 38:51 Woofcast #186. For reals this time, not like yesterday. That’s what not having consistent internet does to a guy. But right to it, we start with a little F1 talk (more info at autosport.com) and Gabe’s MINI rides too low. We think it’s because he is driving around Chicago like it’s the Streets of San Fransisco the Dukes. We talk a bit about Karting before Todd lays down this weeks tip. R53 JCW owners, make sure you are getting your plugs changed (even if they killed the dinosaurs)! Take this service bulletin if your service department doesn’t believe you. Finally, Gabe’s review of his JCW Engine Kit. Of course you already read the review, right? Zips are up as well, if you need them. Woofcast #187 September 23, 2007 Duration: 49:49 Mixing live brings us to finding out Gabe was actually awake, mostly because he worked too much. Then we find out Way and Randy are going to be in Topeka for the SCCA race next week. And then we moved into talking about the fine looking wagon that adorns this week’s show notes page and our thoughts on the new BMW x6. Of course, news of the week from Motoringfile.com. We are taking next week off. I said to reset show numbers, but really we just need a break. Don’t worry, there is still going to be something awesome for you to listen too, Plus there will be another Soundseeing tour from Robert! As a bonus to you, when we come back it will be with a live show! This time, via Talk Shoe instead of Ustream. Why the change? We want to be able to allow you to participate without having to refresh the page. Talkshoe has chat and (insert drumroll here) the ability to take calls! If we do decide to take calls or if you want to hang out in the chat room, you will need to have a free TalkShoe Account. I will post complete instructions later in the week. In fact, you can call this episode 1 of probably two of track day prep. It’s been a while since we have done one, so we figured it was time. And we end with a preview of Robert’s upcoming Soundseeing tour which will be going up later in the week. Want to learn more about Podcasting? The PME is happening this weekend, with a Podcamp going on Thursday. I’ll be there Thursday and Sunday for sure, so if you are going, be sure to find me and say hi. Like I have mentioned already, we won’t be working this week. Instead you are going to get a great interview that Todd and I did while at Plant Oxford before MINI United. We are pretty sure you are going to love it. As a bonus for you, when we do come back (October 4th…mark your calendars!) we will doing it live. More details to follow later in the week. Woofcast #189 September 30, 2007 Duration: 19:37 Immediately after touring Plant Oxford last June, Todd and I where wisked into a very large room where we got to interview the Quality and Engineering Director for MINI. We got to ask some great questions, and he answered all of them! Everyone at Plant Oxford was very generous with their time while we were there and if you ever get the chance to get over there for a tour it is highly recommended. A short week this week as I mentioned during #188. Don’t worry, we are going to make it up to you in the form of a live show this Thursday! Full details to follow soon. Woofcast #190 October 7, 2007 Duration: 50:14 We are back with the first of 2 new shows for you this week. For those of you that missed it, we did the show live via TalkShoe. It worked pretty good so we might do it again. Gabe’s intro is back! Isn’t it awesome? There is more musical madness going on tonight, so pay attention. We start with some discussion about the interview we posted last week and how we think the Clubman is going to affect production. What do you think? Leave a note below. We also discuss a bit about things that may or may not have happened during MINI United. And, so it is known, the seat mechanism on the R56 works flawlessly! I can totally vouch for that if need be. So can Gabe. And, of course, news of the week from Motoringfile.com. By the way, it wasn’t my driving. These will also be the last shows for a bit that I do the recording. HONEST. I know that the last few shows haven’t sounded as good as you are used to. I keep trying to give Todd a break from having to do it all the time but the results are less than you or I like. Woofcast #191 October 8, 2007 Duration: 40:15 Bad news from my service department this last week. Any suggestions for suspension upgrades for the Cooper? I’m looking seriously at the M7 Coilovers. Thoughts? It’s MotorTober! Check out MINIUSA.com for complete details then give your dealer a call! We’ll be at dealers events toward the end of the month. October 21st I will be at Crevier MINI in Santa Ana for their Running of the Bulls event. We answer a few questions from the listeners that joined in via TalkShoe.com plus a few emails. Gabe says the buyers guide is about complete, so keep an eye out for it. These will also be the last shows for a bit that I do the recording. HONEST. I know that the last few shows haven’t sounded as good as you are used to. Woofcast #192 October 14, 2007 Duration: 42:48 We roll right into it. For those of you that wrote in about the audio quality, don’t worry, we got all of the messages. Todd recorded this week (and he will next week as well) until I get a better handle on audio quality. Todd rents a SUV. We make fun of AutoExpress and those silly MINI SUV renderings. Can you smoke plastic wrap? Can sushi make you full for more than a day? My MINI is in serious need of repairs. Hopefully to begin shortly. All things considered, she is doing pretty good for having almost 170K miles. I’ve got big plans for 200K. You are going to have to listen for details. and here is the video we talked about. Plus, news of the week from Motoringfile. Don’t forget Street Tuner Challenge premiers this Wednesday on Speed TV at 10:00PM EST, but check your local listings to be sure. You can see the full schedule here. Should be fun to watch this season as our very own Fireball Tim and the guys are pitting a MINI against a Ford Focus and Mitsubishi. If you are in SoCal and want to attend what will be a cool premier, you need to get over to Southbay MINI by 7:00PM. Get the first look at the car and watch the show! Should be fun. We tried live via TalkShoe again, but the quality on our end got so bad we had to stop it. I really want to find a good way to do this live and will be experimenting more in the future. Check out MINIUSA.com for details or contact your local dealer. Update: Zipped versions of 193 (download) and 192 (download) are ready for those of you that need them. We then spend quite a bit of time talking about what we think the MINI SUV might or might not be. Like it or not, it’s coming. What do you think it’s going to be? Woofcast #194 October 21, 2007 Duration: 22:30 A short one for you this time around. Actually, there was more but we had to cut it. Don’t worry, we’ll bring it back very soon. It’s ok, because we barely got Gabe tonight before he left for New York to go to the Westchester MINI Motortober event. We sneak in Clubman pricing. Well, Todd and Gabe know, but they won’t tell me. Can you believe that? That’s ok, Gabe said he’ll fill me in at AMVIV next year, 4 months after I find out at the LA Auto Show, just like everyone else. Of course, the rest of the news from last week at Motoringfile.com. Looking for a phone that will work with your MINI? Check out Wireless4mini.com. Woofcast #195 October 22, 2007 Duration: 35:33 Starting off with Todd totally killing my intro, we truck on without Gabe and talk about all manner of things. We might have had some fine beverages while making the show and spend some time talking about Trader Joes. If you have one nearby, I highly recommend it. Both Gabe and I attended Motortober events this past Sunday. You can view my complete write-up here. Yes, there are pictures. I was also at the Street Tuner Challenge media day today, full write up to follow but you can check out the pictures here. Plus, a big list of updates of where we are going and where we have been. Follow links at the top of the page or down at the bottom to get all the past WRR goodness. Putting up big miles or know someone that has? Let us know in the comments below. Can you believe there is a club in KC for those guys? Crazy, I know. By the way, that link is our “Fiero Expert”. Then, Gabe has a delima. We vote MINI ‘natch. What about you? Woofcast #197 October 29, 2007 Duration: 34:46 The BMW Halloween Apple BMW Show. We spend a good amount of time talking about the upcoming BMW 1 Series and how it will affect the MINI, the MINI Community and Gabe in general. Eventhough he is holding out for a M3 Coupe. We also talk a bit about lease vs. buy. None of us are fans of a lease, but it really wouldn’t suit us. If you lease, let us know why below. We finish off talking about Motor-Tober events that Gabe and I attended. Todd went to his this last weekend and I’m sure he’ll report next week. I’m currently working with a listener who is having trouble downloading the show through iTunes. I mean, this is the stuff of legends I tell you. Besides, we got to use Fieros (again), the jumping VW Van (again) and CHiPs. It doesn’t get any better than this. Here is the breakdown. We are the number 1, automotive, independent, audio only, not re-purposed content podcast on iTunes. A stretch? Really, that means we experience over 1,000 downloads a day with almost 4,000 listeners by out calculations. So, THANK YOU! Check back next week when Todd and Gabe trudge on without me. Woofcast #205 December 3, 2007 Duration: 37:40 Starting off with a plea from Gabe for a set of wheels for winter. As it turns out, he is not a fan of the Crown Spokes. Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated! And Todd is looking for a drivers side parcel shelf. Anyone willing to help out leave a note below. Then, Todd tells a horror story concerning the ‘widow makers’. Oh no, you’ll have to listen to find out what he means. I can say that winter roads can, possibly, cause some embarrassment, not to mention serious car damage. Lessons to live by people. Gabe didn’t really take 24 hours to build a clubman. That’s the magic of the internets right there! Long live the tubes! Not quite 175K miles, but I’ll be there by the end of the week. Watch the Flickr for when it does happen. We finally get around to talking about The Motoringfile Gift Guide and what we would like to have off of it. R50/R53 owners looking for some cool accessories might want to put a call into the parts desk. There are some smokin’ hot deals to be had. Check it out. Yes I did, in fact, buy skinyourfridge.com.
