1992: The U.S. Postal Service issues a 29-cent commemorative stamp honoring the 50th anniversary of the Alaska Highway. The design, by Alaska artist Byron Birdsall, had been unveiled in Anchorage on 6 December 1991, in a ceremony that included Senator Ted Stevens and Representative Don Young.

2003: The film The Italian Job was released in the U.S.

2006: The first production Jeep Compass was built.

2007: The film Initial D Battle Stage 2 was released.
